Joseph O誰eil is a shareholder in the Mass Torts & Industrial and Consumer Product Liability Practice Groups in the Philadelphia office of Lavin O誰eil Ricci Cedrone and DiSipio. He has more than 30 years of courtroom experience as a trial lawyer defending major corporations in complex litigation. He concentrates his practice on product liability, toxic/mass tort and commercial litigation matters. Mr. O誰eil has served on the firm痴 board of directors for more than 15 years.
Mr. O誰eil has served as national counsel for a number of the country痴 largest automotive, pharmaceutical and clinical laboratory companies and as lead trial counsel before innumerable juries in state and federal courts throughout the United States. He has served as liaison counsel in the Mass Tort Program in Philadelphia. Mr. O誰eil works with clients to manage cases efficiently and economically.

He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Rhode Island, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the District of Columbia Circuit.
Mr. O誰eil is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Philadelphia bar associations; the International Association of Defense Counsel; the Defense Research Institute; and the Product Liability Advisory Council. He serves as Secretary/Treasurer Elect (2010-2011) of the International Association of Defense Counsel and is a director of The Foundation Board of that organization. He is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education and other programs for lawyers and corporations locally and nationally and has served on the faculty of the IADC Trial Academy.
For the past 5 years, Mr. O誰eil has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer having been selected by his peers as one of the top five percent of practicing attorneys in Pennsylvania.
Mr. O誰eil graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rhode Island and earned his Juris Doctor from the Temple University School of Law where he was a member of the Temple Law Review.
Mr. O誰eil has served on the Advisory Board of Siloam, a charitable organization headquartered in Philadelphia that is dedicated to assisting people and families who are affected by HIV/AIDS.
